Der Achter / The figure eight
Der Achter ist die schwierigste aller Figuren. Sie wird nicht im Wettbewerb verlangt.
The figure eight is the most difficult figure of all. It is not requested during a competition.
Stell Dir wieder vor, jemand hätte einen riesigen Achter auf den Boden gepinselt. Am besten funktioniert es, wenn Du die Schritte mitzählst:

Mit dem Hund an der linken Seite diagonal von der Richter oder vom Richter weglaufen – drei Schritte.

Seitenwechsel mit Handwechsel vor dem Hund, Richtung in die andere Diagonale wechseln mit dem Hund nun an der rechten Seite – sechs Schritte.

Seitenwechsel mit Handwechsel vor dem Hund, Richtung in die andere Diagonale immer noch von der Richterin oder dem Richter weg, Hund an der linken Seite – drei Schritte.

Richtungswechsel zurück zur Richterin / zum Richter – drei Schritte.

Seitenwechsel mit Handwechsel hinter dem Hund – jetzt wieder an der rechten Seite. Diagonalrichtung ändern – sechs Schritte.

Seitenwechsel mit Handwechsel hinter dem Hund, wieder auf die linke Seite. Diagonalrichtung ändern – drei Schritte.

Schlussposition vor der Richerin oder dem Richter.
Der Achter ist genauso schwierig, wie diese Anleitung klingt. Aber wenn Du ihn mit Deinem Hund beherrschst, dann seid Ihr wirklich ein eingespieltes Team!
Imagine that someone has painted an enormous number 8 on the floor. It works best if you count the steps:
The figure 8 is exactly as difficult, as the description sounds. But when you and your dog master this, then you are really a well co-ordinated team!
- With the dog on the left side move diagonally way from the judge – 3 steps.
- Side change with hand change in front of the dog, direction change to the other diagonal with the dog now on the right side – 6 steps.
- Side change with hand change in front of the dog, direction change to the other diagonal still going away from the judge with the dog on the left side – 3 steps
- Direction change back to the judge – 3 steps
- Side change with hand change behind the dog- now again on the right side. Change diagonal direction – 6 steps.
- Side change with hand change behind the dog – again on the left side. Change diagonal direction- 3 steps
- Final position in front of the judge.
